Further Notice: GEP (10 Dec 2008)
Dear Participants,
Thank you for all your feedback - as you know, the GEP organizers are always keen to seek feedback to improve.
To clarify on the Bonus Point system, you only get Bonus Points IF AND ONLY IF that item meets the Minimum IQ Requirement. So you could not earn Bonus Points if your item does not meet the Minimum IQ Requirement.
In line with the need to show that the GEP is NOT arbitrary, we will have to persist in asking that all IQs are obviously shown on one's packaging.
After all, we would not want to be accused of allowing non-qualifiers into the GEP.
We will of course circulate a Post-GEP Feedback Form, so that we can improve the program for next year.
Best Regards

XL: Did you not see YH's email? you guys need rules for what counts as good alliteration... i love this: we are so anti-establishment, someone makes a rule and we spend all our time trying to figure out how to game the system.... then we come up with more rules to crush the gamers....
YH: I think there were initially no points allocated to the Minimum IQ requiment, cos it's after all....really quite a minimum requirement to get a
present that starts with the letter of the receiver's name, no? Thus, upon reading I initially thought the challenge of the game was to get the
alliteration ALSO spelt clearly on the packaging. So you actually have to see "mini macadamia M&Ms" on the packaging to get 2 bonus points out of
Mary's present. However, the fact that the alliteration can be pulled out of thin air and doesn't have to make sense...smelt totally of YY.
Anyways, it seems like the rules of the game are that there are no rules on alliteration. So the war is on!!! Dictionary's coming out...
XL: Hmm, interesting. Though my immediate reaction to there being no pts for min IQ req was really just not to meet it for SOME of the presents - i figure i'd rather get something that i think the person wants than something that has the same first letter as the person's name - esp since super alliteration on a SOME presents is all it takes to stay in the game - i figured one could not be constrained by the min IQ req, get gifts they really want to give AND win! Pareto optimality in said incentive system. So I guess you and I think differently...
JL: Dear system
What if I bought a gift before the rules came out and there is no IQ on
the packaging? Do I get a refund?
